Restoring a mossy, uneven lawn

Compacted soil and thin grass had left this lawn heavily affected by moss. The surface was also bumpy, so feeding alone would not have addressed the problems.

The renovation included moss and weed treatment, heavy scarification and hollow-tine aeration to relieve compaction. A 70/30 lawn-sand mix was used to improve the levels, followed by seed, organic topdressing and pre-seed fertiliser.

A sprinkler connected to a timer was set up to help keep the new seed watered through establishment.
